Work is complete for the transfer beams at Phase 3 of the Knowledge Park Development by developers Indian Builders Corporation (IBC).
The 6 beams have provided vital clearance to meet the architect’s requirements of open plan design for the developments function room located on the level below.
The engineering challenge was not only to provide a design solution that could hold 30 metre spans, but to also absorb the entire dead weight of the buildings structure for the additional 18 Levels sitting directly on the transfer beams above the function room. Using the StrongForce multi-strand system, a total of 18 No Tendons comprising of 19 x 15.2mm strands per tendon were installed in each transfer beam. The beam was an astonishing 5.6 metres in depth making this a truly remarkable engineering accomplishment by StrongForce.
