RSF has successfully delivered the post-tension scope for the Reem Island Bridge (Bridges 7 & 8), connecting Reem Island to the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Highway (E-12) in Abu Dhabi. The project forms part of the wider Abu Dhabi 2030 Urban Structure Framework Plan, designed to support sustainable growth, improve mobility, and strengthen urban connectivity across the capital. The bridge is being developed for the Department of Urban Planning and Municipalities, Abu Dhabi City Municipality, with Parsons serving as consultant, Agility as the main contractor, and ALM-HiTECH as the precast contractor. RSF’s scope of work comprised:
241 precast I-girders, ranging from 16m to 45m in length
577 tons of PT strand
Design, system supply, and site execution
Project duration: April 2024 – July 2025
The use of post-tensioning on this project provided several key advantages: enabling longer spans of up to 45 meters, reducing the number of piers required, and optimising material use. These benefits not only improved construction efficiency but also ensured a more durable bridge structure designed to withstand heavy traffic demands while aligning with Abu Dhabi’s long-term sustainability goals. RSF remains committed to applying advanced post-tension solutions that deliver reliable performance while aligning with Abu Dhabi’s vision for sustainable and future-ready infrastructure.
