StrongForce have reached another milestone completing their first post tension raft slab in Oman. Situated in the heart of the business district in Al Khuwair, Muscat.
The project has suspended slabs supported by the raft consists of two basement carpark levels, a ground floor housing a multi-purpose function room and restaurant, six typical levels, penthouse and a roof level totalling 11 levels.
The Main Contractor Gulf International Contracting approached StrongForce Middle East (SFME) to provide a cost-effective value engineering solution for the raft.
SFME proposed a Post Tensioning raft solution and by doing so were able to reduce the steel reinforcement by 65% and the concrete slab thickness by 34% respectively. In addition to this there were also substantial time and cost savings by reducing the excavation works by approximately 520.00m3.
Within 4 weeks from the contract award date SFME had gained design approval from the Muscat Municipality for the post tension sub-structure package and completed the onsite works in just another 4, meaning the entire design and build process was complete inside of an 8 week program.
